Mechwarrior Chimera Edition
« on: 01 April, 2014, 13:05:56 »
OK, these are links to my current Mechwarrior Chimera edition project.

I would like to run another game one day but some of the rules from the current edition are both complex and pointless.
I am borrowing here from all mechwarrior editions as well as traveller.
I don't want to deviate from 2d6 as this is not a game about funky mechanics.
The current equipment lists and damage system are fine.
I don't want/expect players to purchase a rule book.

Brunhilde called this my C&C edition Mechwarrior game. Somewhat true as the goal of a simple but detailed game ring true.

Not sure if its intended or not, but these docs dont have public sharing.  Are we to request the share or was it a mistake on your part having not set up the correct share level?

Assume slackness :)

Ok, That should fix it, I'm currently working on the combat one.

It's interesting reading older RPGs. They were less text intensive. This is good, and bad.
But I do think the current trend for HUGE rpg books is turning me off some of them. I liked the more discreet books.

Eg, in most books now it takes 1-2 pages to explain action types. As opposed to a paragraph in older books. It almost gets explained to death and i never really recall it causing a problem being shorter... Padding out, or explaining in depth. The thing is most players don't really read it anyway.
